Willie and Kristin own a small farm here in Missouri where (among other farm-related work ;-) they raise dexter cattle and stable a few of their horses.  Kristin actually shows her beautiful horses across the states, and has won multiple awards!  They have been planning this assisted living facility farm tour for a while, and were so happy the weather cooperated so that they could make it happen.  Although it was cold and overcast, we didn't get the rain!  Each resident had a wonderful time petting and feeding carrots to one of the horses, Riley, and admiring the new baby calves.  Willie was always ready to lend a hand and was kept on his feet grabbing chairs and blankets for all the visitors while Kristin demonstrated how Dexter cattle like to be "combed", answered questions about the farm life, and even gave everyone a chance to see just how long a cow's tongue is. =)

My sister, Emily, made some yummy treats that were passed out for the residents ;-)

We were so glad to meet Kristin's mother who was also able to come for the tour!
