Celebrating 25 Years | Faithful Love

Weddings are wonderful... it's a beautiful thing to be able to witness two people coming together and starting something new.  But something I can't help but love more than any wedding is married ...

Weddings are wonderful... it's a beautiful thing to be able to witness two people coming together and starting something new.  But something I can't help but love more than any wedding is married couples - the ones who have living proof of their commitment to forever in their constant, devoted, and faithful love for each other.  The ones who have gone through years full of joys and laughter, of hardships, of trials and tears, of giving up oneself, of wanting to give in but instead looking up, of learning to see imperfect people the way God does.  The ones that have lived their lives together raising and training tender little hearts, leading by example, realizing that they can't do it alone, being broken over and over again, and finding their only strength in Jesus.

Mama and Daddy, you are one of those couples to me... thank you for all that you've done to live for everyone but yourself - seeking the Lord, loving each other, and building the family that you have these past 25 years together.  I love you so very much!

We had fun celebrating together as a family here at home... my sister decorated a yummy heart-shaped cake, we pulled out some 25-year-old wedding napkins (can you guess whose they were?), and our parents made the kitchen floor a dance floor - not caring that there were food-crumbs under their feet, or that they were circled by piles of folded laundry and lots of little onlookers. ;-)
